Petersburg Woman Dies After Fatal Collision | VA Car Accident Attorney
Petersburg, VA – May 4 – A local salon owner was killed Friday morning after being involved a fatal car accident near Petersburg High School.
Tammie Dingas, 42, was the owner of a popular hair salon called “Curl Up and Dye,” located on Sycamore Street in Old Towne Petersburg, reports WTVR.com.
Police found Dingas about 100 yards from her vehicle when they arrived on the scene and believe she was ejected after crashing. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Later, police found a man who had been wandering aimlessly through the woods. They believe he was also involved in the crash and was disoriented from the accident.
Petersburg Police Spokeswoman Esther Hyatt said the man walked to the intersection of Matoax and Sunset roads, found an unlocked car and fell asleep inside. It was there that he was discovered by another resident going to work.
The police transported the man to Southside Regional Medical Center, where he is expected to recover.
Johnson Road was closed temporarily during the investigation. Police believe it was a single-car crash and that morning fog could have played a role in the accident.
