Botetourt County, VA – July 10 – A woman was killed Tuesday morning in a fatal single-vehicle car crash.

According to official reports by, the accident occurred around 8 a.m. on Route 220 near Chatham Road in Eagle Rock.

Lakeisha Renee Byrd, 22, was heading south on Route 220 when she veered off the left side of the road, flew over an embankment and crashed into several trees.

Police said Byrd was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations are continuing at this time. The cause of the crash has not yet been reported.
