A popular baby stroller sold across the United States has been recalled due to a defective hinge that has caused several incidents of crushed and severed fingers in children and adults, reports CNN.com.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled around 36,000 of Kolcraft Contours Options three- and four-wheeled strollers after reports of both children and adults catching their fingers in an opening that is created when locking and unlocking the hinge apparatus on the stroller. Three children have had their fingers amputated by the defective hinge, while two adults suffered smashed fingers.
The strollers, manufactured in China, were sold in Canada and the U.S. at children’s stores and online retailers from January 2006 to June 2012 for around $150 or $160.
The model numbers included in the recall start with ZL002, ZL005, ZL008, ZL015 and ZL018. Check out complete details on the models affected.
If you own a recalled Kolcraft stroller, you are urged to stop its use immediately and contact Kolcraft for information on receiving a free repair kit.
