Sandy has done more than taken down trees; it closed Virginia courts on October 29th as well, reports Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
Sandy, the name given to the massive storm that has wreaked havoc on the east coast during Halloween week, forced the closures of the Supreme Court of Virginia and Virginia State Bar offices.
Additionally, the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and U.S. District Court told people Monday that their doors were closed.
An email from the U.S. Courts system contained the following message: “Jurors, litigants, lawyers, and others should check their local court’s website for closure details or use the court locator to find court websites.”
Parrish Law Firm, PLLC reminds Virginia citizens to stay safe and use caution during the storm.
