The Toro Co. has recalled a number of their Toro® Z Master® Riding Mowers due to a defect in the traction belt that can cause a fuel leak and subsequent fire hazard, reports PRNewswire.com.
Around 2,600 of the mowers, manufactured in Bloomington Minnesota and sold at Toro dealers across the U.S. between January 2012 and August 2012 in a price range of $7,700-$8,700, have been recalled because of a tendency for the traction drive belt to wear through the fuel tank and cause a leakage, causing a fire risk to the consumer.

There have been five reports of fuel leakages as a result of the defect products, but no reports of injuries. Consumers have been instructed to stop using the mowers immediately and contact a Toro dealer to schedule a free repair.
