April 9, 2013 by The Parrish Law Firm

With spring in full swing, Fairfax County police are ramping up their pedestrian safety law enforcement to help ensure pedestrians stay safe, reports WTOP.com.

Police have started handing out tickets to both drivers and pedestrians who are breaking traffic laws in the hopes of curbing future pedestrian accidents.

A fatal accident last Thursday has fueled the police effort. A pedestrian was struck on Leesburg Pike late Thursday evening and died of their injuries. Fairfax police are continuing to investigate to determine whether or not the pedestrian was using the crosswalk.
