Samuel Lawrence Furniture Recalls Bed Frames for Defect

July 24, 2012 by The Parrish Law Firm

The North Carolina based company Samuel Lawrence Furniture has recalled a number of their Twin-size and Full-size Bordeaux Collection Bed Frames because of defects to the footboards and headboards that can pose a fall risk, reports PRNewswire.

Around 2,400 of the bed frames, manufactured by Poh Huat Furniture Ind., of Malaysia and sold at furniture retailers across the United States between August 2009 and April 2012 have been recalled because of a tendency for the hardware that holds the footboard and headboard to detach or loosen, posing a fall risk to the consumer. This is an expansion of a previous recall of 18,400 King and Queen sized beds earlier this year.

The recall affects those Twin-size and Full-size Bordeaux Collection Bed Frames that have wooden footboards and headboards with a cherry finish. The beds also include two similar wooden side rails.

There have been greater than 100 reports of defective headboards and footboards detaching, one of which involving a man in Florida suffering foot injuries due to a footboard defect.

If you own any product affected by the recall, you are encouraged to immediately stop its use and contact Samuel Lawrence Furniture to get a repair kit, free of charge. You can call them at (888) 572-9889 or visit their website at www.slf-co.com for more information.
